Hand-Painted Signs

When the team at Traction asked me to put the Franklin Fields logo on their Lansing cultivation warehouse, we weren't talking about a storefront window. We were talking 7-foot tall letters on a massive, textured surface.

Size matters, but so does the replicating someone else's work flawlessly. I hand-painted this massive sign to ensure it looked as crisp from the road as it does from three feet away. No shortcuts, no giant stickers, just days of hand-painting on a challenging warehouse exterior. It was a beast of a project, but seeing those clean lines against that rough texture makes every hour worth it. Big thanks to Gerald Westerlund for the design and the extra set of hands on the wall. It was a test of patience and technique and the result is a permanent, high-impact landmark.

Design by Traction / Gerald Westerlund. Paint by Slowpoke Studio (with a solid assist from Gerald).
